The Story So Far…

I believe every good story starts with a fight—a fight to create something from nothing. I’m Aaron Alviso Stephenson, a filmmaker, writer, and storyteller who’s always chasing the good fight. For me, that fight isn’t about winning; it’s about making things that matter.

Like the cinematic heroes I grew up with, I came from nothing, but was blessed with a heritage of grit and tenacity. That stubbornness led me down the path of a filmmaker, through struggle and strife, to pursue a calling I couldn’t ignore. It took me to Los Angeles and back, with a detour to earn a graduate degree from the prestigious Art Center College of Design.

Over the years, I've had the honor of producing countless independent films, pilots, and commercials, and yes, even a few too many stand-up comedian specials. But as a storyteller, I’ve found that the fight isn’t just in the making; it’s in the writing.

The Good Fight Now: What's Next

Currently, I'm working on my debut novel. It’s a project that feels like the ultimate good fight—building a world from scratch, one word at a time. It’s a journey I’m thrilled to be on, and I can't wait to share more as it takes shape.

I've also teamed up with the brilliant artist Artee Duran to collaborate as a writer on a new graphic novel. It's a fantastic new challenge that allows me to explore visual storytelling in a completely different way. You can see more of his incredible work on his Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/arteetattoos/.

And of course, the fight in film continues. I've written and am currently directing my psychological horror feature film, ‘Mothers,’ with an anticipated release in Fall of 2026.

My greatest battle, and my greatest blessing, has been building a family with my wife and three children. Much like the path of the filmmaker, it didn't happen the way I thought it would, but it’s a fight for love and a fight to do what’s right—and that’s a fight I’ll always be in.

Thanks for stopping by. And remember… ¡VIVA EL CINE!
